April 23 - UTAH . The Lakers and the Jazz made shot after shot in the final two minutes but after Deron Williams made a 15-foot jumper L.A. ran out of time, Kobe Bryant missed a desperate, too long 3-point attempt at the buzzer and Utah got the win 88-86 to make it a series.

Kobe missing was no news at all. He ended with 18 points but went 5-for-24 from the floor. He also got 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Lamar Odom led the Lakers with his 21 points and 14 rebounds while Pau Gasol added 20 and 9.

Carlos Boozer tied a franchise playoff record by collecting 22 rebounds and scored 23 points including 6 consecutive previous to Williams winning-shot with two seconds left. The point guard added 13 points and 9 assists for the Jazz, that took a two-point lead four times in those final two minutes.

Utah dominated a first quarter where the Lakers could only score 17 points after scoring 41 to open game 2. But L.A. regained composure and started the third period with a 15-1 run to arrive to the fourth leading 68-60.

Game 4 is Saturday night in Utah.
